The Vis à Vis collection gives wooden garden furniture a new dimension. Designer Piergiorgio Cazzaniga's favorite outdoor material is teak wood - it is natural, soft and very durable. As inspiration for his collection, he imagined a place where everyone would enjoy spending time and communicating more with each other. The result is Tribù's Vis à Vis collection - it creates the face-to-face experience.

Rocking chairs have been one of the most popular pieces of seating furniture for over 100 years. Their comfortable rocking movements invite us to linger, read and think and always manage to slowly rock children and adults alike to sleep. The rocking chair became truly famous during the presidency of John F. Kennedy. The former American president suffered from chronic back pain, prompting his doctor to advise him to use a rocking chair to sit. Kennedy did that and he quickly took a liking to the seating comfort of the unusual piece of furniture. He quickly decided to permanently equip his presidential plane, Air Force One, with a rocking chair. In the future, President Kennedy would no longer have to do without the “rocking chair”, as the rocking chair is called in English, on any of his trips.

The structure of the seating furniture is made entirely of teak wood with a seat made of woven acrylic fiber - each chair is hand-upholstered in brown Canax® - the material was developed exclusively for Tribù and is particularly UV and rot-resistant. The natural colors fit into any garden landscape - from the house by the sea to the puristic roof terrace and create a natural, timeless flair.

Optimal use and maintenance

All furniture in the Vis à Vis collection is extremely easy to maintain thanks to its teak frame and woven Canax® seat and is also suitable for use in harsh, salty climates such as by the sea or by the swimming pool.

The backrest consists of a stainless steel frame in which Canax® was woven - this consists of a combination of PVC and natural hemp.

You can also optionally order protective covers for your Tribù furniture. The gray covers are made of PU-coated polyester and are water-repellent and UV-resistant. Thanks to their excellent breathability, the covers reduce condensation and heat build-up - thus preventing the formation of mold. However, they are not 100% waterproof. Always ensure furniture, cushions and covers are completely dry before covering furniture.

Cleaning and maintenance

Frame: Treat new teak with Tribù's “Teak Protector” 4 to 6 weeks after first use. This leaves an invisible layer, which prevents stains and green deposits.

Dirty teak can be cleaned with the “Teak Super Cleaner” from Tribù. Allow the furniture to dry completely and then apply the “Teak Protector” again. To avoid labor-intensive cleaning, you can also treat the wood with Tribù’s “Teak Sealer”. Simply cleaning with water and a pH-neutral soap will last for many years. Teak Sealer contains UV protection to slow graying and a fungicide to prevent mold from forming.

Backrest/seat: Backrest: Canax® requires little care and is easily cleaned with water and a pH-neutral soap. For stubborn stains and green deposits, we recommend the “Synthetics Super Cleaner” from Tribù. You should also treat the rope fabric with the “Synthetics Protector” so that an invisible film is applied.
