Barbecue fans will love this set: it consists of three stainless steel skewers 85cm long , the ring for horizontal skewers and a specially designed base in which the ring can be placed. The solid black steel frame is placed directly over the flame of the OFYR cooking unit and is the perfect height for meat and vegetables to be cooked to perfection. You can easily place the skewers horizontally in the desired grilling position. The cooking plate of the OFYR remains unlocked. This allows you to cook other dishes at the same time. The built-in frame allows additional firewood to be easily added. The set can also be expanded with additional skewers of 85 or 105cm , each of which must be ordered separately in a set of 3.

Getting the most out of your horizontal skewer set 100

TIP : Choose the right firewood!

To get the best results when grilling, it is also important to have the right firewood: Only use dry wood - a slow-burning hardwood such as beech or ash is ideal. Tropical wood burns too hot and can possibly damage the cooking plate. Wet wood is difficult to light and creates unnecessary smoke. Do not use logs that are too large so that air can circulate well and always stack with the bark facing upwards. Ideally, as in the video, the wood is stacked in a block shape and lit in the middle. This allows oxygen to circulate optimally. By the way, the Buffadoo makes lighting a fire much easier and also keeps the first smoke down.

Cleaning and maintenance

The set for horizontal skewers 100 consists of three stainless steel skewers 85cm long, the ring for horizontal skewers and a specially designed base frame into which the ring can be inserted. Ring and frame are made of black steel.

With the Ofyr's fire plate, after you've finished grilling, it's enough to use the spatula to remove the small remains on the plate into the embers. After cooling down, the plate only needs to be wiped clean with a damp cloth.

It may be necessary to clean the skewers and the metal frame with a metal brush or steel wool if not all of the grill residue has burned off.

Oiling afterwards helps protect against corrosion!

Stainless steel skewers can be easily cleaned with hot water and detergent - they do not need to be oiled.

Please never clean the Ofyr's fire plate with detergent! This removes the patina, so the grill surface needs to be seasoned again! After cleaning with the spatula, wash the grill surface with a damp cloth and oil it again with a cloth until the next use.

Please never clean steel parts of the Ofyr in the dishwasher.

If cared for properly, the grill plate shouldn't actually develop any rust, but if rust spots do appear there, there's no reason to worry: depending on the thickness, carefully remove the rust with a scourer or with a metal polisher on the drill, burn it again and use it after use It's best to re-oil the plate when it's slightly warm! Then you will enjoy your Ofyr for many years!
