The Elio collection - designed by Canadian design agency Yabu Pushelberg, is inspired by the Greek sun god Helios. According to mythology, Helios' job was to drive the chariot of the sun across the sky from sunrise to sunset. Elio aims to capture precisely this brief moment of sunset - the chair's elegant fabric captures all shades of light.

The gently rounded silhouette of the Elio chair creates a cocoon effect - a cozy and intimate sanctuary. The structure of the seating furniture is made of high-quality teak with a seat made of woven acrylic fiber - here Belgian textile technology is combined with modern dyeing skills. Tribù creates a material capable of mimicking the light reflections of nature - 16 different colors of yarn are woven together to create the perfect shading effect on the seat. Every piece of furniture from the Elio collection is unique.

The chair is available in the colors Linen, Wengé and Moss - Elio can optionally be equipped with a matching seat cushion.

Each chair is hand-covered with Tricord® - the material was developed exclusively for Tribù and is particularly UV and rot-resistant. The natural colors fit into any garden landscape - from the house by the sea to the purist roof terrace and create a natural, timeless flair.

Optimal use and maintenance

All furniture in the Elio collection is extremely easy to maintain thanks to its teak frame and the backrests and seat made of woven Tricord® and is also suitable for use in harsh, salty climates such as by the sea or by the swimming pool.

The teak used comes from plantations on the Indonesian Java Island and is hand-picked during the tree cutting process. The seat shell consists of an aluminum frame into which Tricord® has been woven - this can be completely replaced if necessary. Tricord® consists of a durable polyester core and a weather-resistant polyolefin shell - strong on the inside, soft on the outside.

You can also optionally order protective covers for your Tribù furniture. The gray covers are made of PU-coated polyester and are water-repellent and UV-resistant. Thanks to their excellent breathability, the covers reduce condensation and heat build-up - thus preventing the formation of mold. However, they are not 100% waterproof. Always ensure furniture, cushions and covers are completely dry before covering furniture.

Cleaning and maintenance

Teak wood: Treat new teak wood with Tribù's “Teak Protector” 4 to 6 weeks after first use. This leaves an invisible layer, which prevents stains and green deposits.

Dirty teak can be cleaned with the “Teak Super Cleaner” from Tribù. Allow the furniture to dry completely and then apply the “Teak Protector” again. To avoid labor-intensive cleaning, you can also treat the wood with Tribù’s “Teak Sealer”. Simply cleaning with water and a pH-neutral soap will last for many years. Teak Sealer contains UV protection to slow graying and a fungicide to prevent mold from forming.

Seat shell: Before use, we recommend treating the Tricord® fabric with Tribù's “Textile Protector” - the agent forms an invisible dirt and water-repellent film on the fabric. Tricord® can be cleaned with clear tap water and a pH-neutral cleaning agent - for stubborn stains we recommend the “Synthetics Super Cleaner” from Tribù.
