The Illum collection - designed by Belgian designer duo Merckx & Maes - is a translation of classic Scandinavian design. The materials used can withstand any weather condition and become an absolute eye-catcher in your outdoor area. Functionality is the top priority with the Illum table – comfort paired with pure elegance and lightness.

And with the same philosophy, the collection also includes cushions that are adapted to the different seating furniture. In this case the cushion was made for the Illum Armchair. Its filling is made of dry foam, which has an open cell structure so that air can circulate freely. Water penetrates through the filling, but dries quickly thanks to the large open pores, significantly inhibiting fungal growth. Fabrics available in category D, E & F.

Optimal use and maintenance

All furniture in the Illum collection is extremely easy to maintain and is also suitable for use in harsh, salty climates such as by the sea or by the swimming pool.

You can also optionally order protective covers for your Tribù furniture. The gray covers are made of PU-coated polyester and are water-repellent and UV-resistant. Thanks to their excellent breathability, the covers reduce condensation and heat build-up - thus preventing the formation of mold. However, they are not 100% waterproof. Always ensure furniture, cushions and covers are completely dry before covering furniture.

Cleaning and maintenance

Aluminum: Clean the aluminum frame (and also the aluminum table top) with water and a PH-neutral soap. Use Tribù’s “Aluminium Cleaner” for all stubborn dirt. We also recommend impregnating the aluminum parts twice a year with “Teflon Protector” to particularly protect the material from dirt.

Seat: The Batyline seat can be cleaned with soap and water. For stubborn stains, use Synthetics Super Cleaner. Apply it to both sides with a soft brush. Let it sit for a while and rinse it off with a garden hose.
