WEICH Couture Alpaca is a German brand specializing in high-quality home textiles, small furniture, and accessories made from alpaca wool and alpaca fur. The company combines traditional Peruvian craftsmanship with a clean, European design aesthetic. The focus is on natural materials, an exceptional feel, and products that bring warmth and tranquility to modern living spaces.

Alpaca fiber forms the basis of the collections. Alpacas traditionally live in the high altitudes of the South American Andes, where they are exposed to extreme temperature fluctuations. Their fur has adapted to these conditions: The fine fibers are densely packed and are partially hollow on the inside. This allows them to retain heat without feeling unnecessarily heavy, while also promoting natural temperature regulation.

According to the company, WEICH processes exceptionally fine Royal Alpaca with a fiber thickness of less than 18 microns. This high-quality grade is characterized by a very soft, smooth, and comfortable surface. The fiber’s characteristic curl—known as crimp—enhances volume, elasticity, and heat retention.

The collection includes throws, wool blankets, pillows, rugs, bedspreads, seat cushions, hot water bottles, and decorative accessories. The collection is complemented by small furniture pieces and seating items such as the Mariposa Butterfly Chair, upholstered in alpaca fur. In this way, WEICH applies the material not only to classic home textiles but also to distinctive design pieces for living and sleeping areas.

Many products feature subtle natural colors, soft textures, and a minimalist design. This makes them a great fit for modern, Scandinavian, minimalist, or nature-inspired interiors. Some rugs and other products can also be custom-made to your specifications.

Production takes place in small, specialized workshops in Peru. There, raw materials from the Andes are sorted and transformed into textiles or home accessories. The brand combines this traditional craftsmanship with a German commitment to quality and a controlled product development process.

When it comes to animal welfare, WEICH distinguishes between wool and hides. The wool is obtained during regular shearing. According to the company, for products made from alpaca hides, it uses only hides that are byproducts—for example, when animals die of natural causes or are slaughtered for meat. No animal is killed solely for the production of these products.

Their long lifespan also plays an important role. High-quality alpaca fibers are durable, lightweight, and warm. With proper care, throws, pillows, and rugs can be used for many years. According to the manufacturer, repairable defects—such as damaged zippers—are inspected as part of customer service and, if necessary, repaired or replaced.

WEICH Couture Alpaca is designed for people who appreciate high-quality natural materials, an exceptional feel, and a serene, timeless aesthetic for the home. The collections combine comfort and design with traceable material sources and traditional craftsmanship.
