Optimal use and care

Wood :

Wood is a living, natural material and should therefore always be cleaned as gently as possible.

Regular cleaning with a damp cloth ensures that the furniture always looks good and has a beautiful patina. Never use aggressive cleaning agents to clean furniture.

Solid wood furniture should not be placed near heat sources such as radiators and wood stoves or stored in unheated rooms.
Wood is a natural material and therefore no two pieces are alike. Small knots, visible growth spots and color variations are part of the natural appearance of wood. Cowhide
At Carl Hansen & Søn we use genuine cowhide leather of the highest quality from South America. No two skins are identical. Therefore, each piece of cowhide has its own unique pattern and appearance.
Normal cleaning and care
We recommend vacuuming cowhide upholstery regularly with a soft brush and on a low to medium setting. To avoid unnecessary wear and tear on the cowhide, always vacuum in the direction of the hair.
Special cleaning - stain removal
If liquids are spilled, the liquid should be absorbed as quickly as possible with a clean cloth. The stain is first removed by gently blotting with a clean cloth or sponge soaked in warm water.
