OFYR is a Dutch brand specializing in high-quality outdoor cooking stations, patio furniture, and cooking accessories. The company was founded in 2015 based on the idea of transforming outdoor cooking from a largely solitary activity into a communal experience. Fire, food, and people should not be separated from one another, but rather come together around a central gathering place.
The distinctive design consists of a conical fire chamber and a wide, ring-shaped steel cooking grate. The wood fire burns in the center, while the heat is distributed from the inside out across the cooking plate. This creates different temperature zones: the plate is particularly hot right next to the fire, while it remains at a more moderate temperature at the outer edge. This allows different ingredients to be cooked simultaneously at the appropriate heat levels.
Unlike a traditional grill, the OFYR is intentionally designed to be open. Guests stand around the fire, can watch the food being prepared, chat with one another, and even help cook themselves. As a result, the unit serves not only as a cooking station but also as a social hub in the garden or on the patio. Even when no cooking is taking place, the open flame can be used as an atmospheric fire pit.
The product line includes various model series for residential and professional use. The Heritage Collection includes classic cooktops such as the OFYR 75, as well as the Classic+ models in sizes 85 and 100. They are available in Corten steel or with a black coating. Variants with built-in storage offer space for wood or cooking accessories.
The PRO models are designed for frequent use and professional applications. Handles and casters make some models easier to move. Larger models, such as the Classic 120 PRO+ or the OFYR Trailer, are suitable for restaurants, catering, hotels, and events. The lineup is rounded out by Island models, which combine a cooking station with a work surface, storage space, and a ceramic countertop.
With its Signature Collection, OFYR expands its classic range of materials to include colorful and exceptionally high-quality finishes. In addition to black and taupe, the collection features, among others, oxide red, brushed stainless steel, and mirror-polished stainless steel. Matching mise-en-place tables allow for a coordinated design of the entire outdoor kitchen.
The accessories make these cooking stations particularly versatile. A central grill grate allows for classic grilling over an open flame. The rotisserie lets you slowly rotate larger cuts of meat or poultry. Pizza ovens, grill cages, horizontal skewers, and Brazilian grill sets expand the system to include additional cooking techniques. In addition, OFYR offers spatulas, tongs, knives, cutting boards, protective covers, and other accessories for food preparation and maintenance.
Corten steel develops a characteristic rust patina when exposed to the elements. This surface is part of the desired look and changes over time due to moisture and weather conditions. Black-coated models have a more understated appearance but require careful maintenance to ensure the coating lasts as long as possible.
The steel grill plate also requires regular maintenance. After cooking, food residue should be removed from the still-warm plate and pushed into the fire. Then, rub a thin layer of vegetable oil onto the surface to prevent corrosion. If the griddle is not used for an extended period, the manufacturer recommends re-oiling it approximately every 15 to 30 days, depending on the climate.
Cold ashes should be removed from the fire cone after each use. If damp ashes remain in the unit for an extended period, they can cause corrosion or damage to coated surfaces. When properly installed, rainwater can drain out of the cone through the designated openings.
OFYR is designed for people who see outdoor cooking as more than just preparing a meal. The combination of an open fire pit, a versatile grilling surface, and sculptural design creates a lasting gathering place for private gardens, restaurants, hotels, and events.
