Vetsak is an international furniture brand whose story began in 2012 in Woodstock, Cape Town. Founded by two German and one South African entrepreneur, the company started with a new take on the classic beanbag. This evolved into a globally oriented brand for modular sofas, beanbags, and comfort-focused home accessories.
At the heart of the brand’s philosophy is the goal of designing furniture that is as comfortable, uncomplicated, and flexible as possible. Vetsak deliberately avoids rigid, formal seating postures and develops spacious furniture for leaning back, reclining, and relaxing. Soft shapes, deep seats, and voluminous cushions give the collections their distinctive lounge-style character.
Today, the modular sofa forms the core of the collection. It consists of seating and side elements that can be combined separately to create straight sofas, corner configurations, chaise longues, daybeds, or large living room suites. The size and layout can be customized to fit the available space. If your needs change, modules can be repositioned or added later.
Beneath the soft covers lies the patented vetsak-vrame™ construction. It is made of EPP, an expanded polypropylene that is both exceptionally lightweight and durable. The material ensures stability, reduces the weight of the individual modules, and thereby makes assembly, transport, and reconfiguration easier. The elements are connected using a snap-fit system that requires no screws or adhesive.
The upholstery is also designed to be easily changed over the long term. Depending on the collection, a variety of finishes are available, such as corduroy, velvet, bouclé, textured fabrics, and European nubuck leather. A wide range of colors and materials allows for personalized design. The covers can be removed and replaced, so a sofa can be cleaned or given a new look without having to replace the entire piece of furniture.
Most fabric covers are machine-washable and therefore suitable for everyday use with children or pets. Exceptions include leather and the textured Loop-Loop fabric, for which the respective care instructions must be followed. Free fabric samples allow you to check the color and texture at home before placing your order.
In addition to its modular sofas, Vetsak offers its well-known beanbags in a variety of sizes, fabrics, and colors. A special hybrid foam filling ensures a soft, sinking sensation and conforms to the body. The collection is complemented by ottomans, large lounge cushions, neck pillows, blankets, and other accessories that allow you to customize your comfort and seating position.
Vetsak also designs weather-resistant outdoor sofas and beanbags for patios and gardens. The EPP core is water-resistant and exceptionally lightweight, while the special outdoor covers are designed to withstand sun, rain, and dirt. Thanks to the modular design, you can create compact seating arrangements, large lounge areas, or daybeds—even outdoors.
The sofas are designed in Germany and manufactured within the European Union. Vetsak combines digital product design with modern manufacturing processes and high-quality materials. The ability to reuse modules and covers over the long term supports a furnishing approach that doesn’t require complete replacement with every change in layout or style.
Vetsak is particularly well-suited for people who want to combine comfort, a casual look, and flexible design. The furniture works just as well in compact apartments as it does in spacious living areas, open-concept lofts, and relaxed outdoor spaces.
